MAINSTREAMING PAGANISM IN THE CHURCH
JOHN MACARTHUR: FREEMASON
In a 1979 Grace To You Interview, John MacArthur boasted that his ancestors belonged to the great MacArthur Clan of Scotland and that he is a fifth cousin of General Douglas MacArthur:
“RICH: Some of the listening audience have asked about your name. Some think that maybe you’re related to General MacArthur, can you tell us a little about who you’re related to and what about the name?
“JOHN: Well, of course, MacArthur is a great Scottish name. We have our own clan and our own plaid and all those things. A recent visit to Scotland on my part reaffirmed where my roots come from. But my family came originally from Scotland. I’m a fifth generation preacher. Men in my family go back to ministries in Scotland and Canada, even in Australia. I am distantly related to General Douglas MacArthur. I understand that I am a fifth cousin. So it’s quite a distance, but nonetheless we are related.”
On January 17, 1936, General Douglas MacArthur (1880-1954) became a Master Mason of the Scottish Rite. Gen. MacArthur was made a “Mason at sight” in an impressive ceremony at the American Embassy in Japan.
“On December 8, 1947, at the American Embassy in Japan, the Thirty-third Degree was conferred on Brother MacArthur by Illþ Frederick H. Stevens, 33º, Deputy of The Mother Supreme Council, 33º, in the Philippines. Brother Stevens had conferred the First Degree on Brother MacArthur in 1936.” (Ararat Shrine Temple)
“Douglas MacArthur became a Freemason while serving as field marshal in the capacity of military advisor to the commonwealth government of the Philippines. He did not join the Craft in the conventional way by petitioning a Lodge for the degrees of Masonry. For that matter, either by design or by fate MacArthur did very few things during his lifetime in the conventional manner.
“For the second time in the history of the Grand Lodge of the Philippines, Most Worshipful Samuel Hawthorne exercised his prerogative to make a ‘Mason at sight’ on January 17, 1936, in the presence of over six hundred Master Masons who watched in breathless silence in a crowded hall, Samuel Hawthorne, Grand Master of Masons in the Philippines made General Douglas MacArthur a Mason at sight. MacArthur was visibly moved throughout the ceremony. The Entered Apprentice Degree was given with P.G.M. Frederick H. Stevens presiding. Immediately following, P.G.M. Francisco A. Delagado conferred the Fellowcraft Degree on MacArthur. When it was concluded, M.W. Samuel Hawthorne raised General MacArthur to the sublime degree of Master Mason.
“It was an impressive ceremony and it included an address by P.G.M. Eugene Stafford who recalled his very close association with MacArthur’s father, General Arthur MacArthur when he commanded the Philippine division and later served as Military Governor of the Philippines in 1900-1901. Concluding the ceremony, some twenty grizzled veterans still possessing the military bearing of a bygone era, and almost all Past Masters, who had served with General Arthur MacArthur, 36 years before, lined up in the East. It was an extraordinary ceremony, the Freemasons of the Philippines welcomed a prominent American General into the Craft as a brother, and also paid homage to his father a Freemason who some of the brethren had fought along side of, and others had undoubtedly fought against a generation before. It was a golden moment for Freemasonry in the Philippines and for Douglas MacArthur who had always wanted to be a Freemason like his father. The ceremony lasted for two hours.
“After being raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason, Douglas MacArthur affiliated with Manila Lodge No.1 and on March 13th joined the Scottish Rite. On October 19, 1937, he was elected Knight Commander Court of Honor, and on December 8, 1947, he was coroneted Honorary 33rd Degree at the American Embassy in Tokyo. He became a life member of the Nile Shrine Temple in Seattle, Washington.” (Herbert G. Gardiner, PGS, “Douglas MacArthur, A Freemason for All Seasons”)
General MacArthur’s initiation into Freemasonry was a major event, attended by “over six hundred Master Masons who watched in breathless silence in a crowded hall” in the American Embassy. The date, January 17, is the sacred day on which Grandmasters of the Prieuré de Sion are elected. Curiously, Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s biography appears in the Jewish Virtual Library.
Freemasonry was opposed in Japan before World War II and banned during the war. Douglas MacArthur, however, succeeded in establishing the Craft in this country where he received the 33rd Degree. 1.
“Freemasonry in pre-war Japan and was mostly concerned with only foreigners and was met with resistance by the Japanese. During the war, Freemasonry was totally banned. After the war, General MacArthur helped to insure Freemasonry would have a safe place in Japan.” (Freemasonry & Modern Japanese History)
“A significant contribution to Masonry occurred in 1947 when Supreme Commander MacArthur requested permission from the Japanese government to allow Japanese nationals to join Masonic Lodges. The Grand Lodge of the Philippines in 1947 instituted the first Lodge at the Yokosuka Naval Base and later three Lodges in Tokyo. The Ritual was translated into Japanese for Lodges of Japanese nationals.
“The Grand Lodge of Japan was formed on June 1, 1957. Today, it supports over 21 Lodges and 4,000 members. The new Tokyo Masonic Center, valued at over $50 million, was featured in an article...in the May issue of The Scottish Rite Journal.
“Douglas MacArthur was an active Mason and played a significant role in the development of Masonry in Japan. In fact, the Douglas MacArthur Memorial in Norfolk, Virginia, has on display much of his Masonic regalia, including his Third Degree apron, his Shrine fez, his Thirty-third Degree Scottish Rite cap and ring, and other Masonic awards.” (Ararat Shrine Temple)
The father of Douglas MacArthur was exalted to even greater status in Freemasonry. Captain Arthur MacArthur (1845-1912) held, among several other high positions, the offices of Grand Master of the Knights Templar of the USA and Representative of the Great Priory of Scotland:
“ILL. ARTHUR MAC ARTHUR, 33º.
“Ill. Arthur Mac Arthur, Grand Master of the Grand Encampment, Knights Templar of the United States of America, was born at Troy, N.Y., July 24, 1850, and was educated at Troy Academy and the Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute. He is the publisher and owner of a newspaper, The Troy Northern Budget, and a monthly magazine, The Home Budget.
“He is eminent in Masonic circles, a life member of Mt. Zion Lodge of Troy, of which he was Worshipful Master in 1882. He was District Deputy Grand Master of the 12th District in 1883, on the advisory committee to the Trustees of the Masonic Hall and Asylum Fund in 1890, and has been a Trustee of Masonic Hall and Asylum Fund since 1910. Is Vice-president of the Board, and also a life member of the Grand Lodge.
“He is a life member of Apollo Chapter of Troy, where he was High Priest in 1883, and a trustee in 1885, and ever since. He was Representative to the Grand Chapter of Colorado near New York from 1890 to 1910. He is a life member of Bloss Council of Troy, T.I.M. in 1891, and Representative to the Grand Council of New York. He is a life member of Apollo Commandery of Troy, was its Eminent Commander in 1887 and 1888 and Grand Commander of the State of New York in 1898.
“He is Representative of the Great Priory of Scotland, near the Grand Encampment of the United States.
“In Scottish Rite Masonry he is a life member of Delta Lodge of Perfection, of Delta Council, Delta Chapter, Albany Sovereign Consistatory, was made an honorary member September 16, 1890, and was crowned an active Thirty-third degree Mason for New York Supreme Council, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, September 20, 1905.
“Sir Knight Mac Arthur is also very active in public life... He has been very active in military matters...” (Brotherhood: Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, 1912, p. 257)
Why was Captain Arthur MacArthur elevated to be Grand Master of the Knights Templar of the USA, Representative of the Great Priory of Scotland and so many noble offices in Scottish Rite Freemasonry? In Scotland (to which the Knights Templar fled, went underground and emerged as Scottish Rite Freemasonry) the MacArthur Clan is believed to be the royal lineage of King Arthur, and therefore of the Merovingian dynasty. These high born “Sons of Arthur” are the subject of the Part 10, “The Once & Future Clan.”
REV. THOMAS FRASER FULLERTON
John Fullerton MacArthur, Jr. was named after his father, Pastor John “Jack” Fullerton MacArthur, Sr., whose middle name was the surname of his grandfather, Rev. Thomas Fraser Fullerton.
Thomas Fraser Fullerton was Provincial Grand Master and Grand Secretary, and Worshipful Brother and Grand Master of The Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons of the Province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. During the years that Thomas Fraser Fullerton held these and other high level offices in Canadian Freemasonry, he was also the minister of St James Presbyterian Church in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. These facts are documented in three sources: a Grace to You Interview of John MacArthur, Iain Murray’s biography, John MacArthur: Servant of the Word and Flock and The Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island.
John MacArthur's Life Testimony:
“PHIL JOHNSON: Thank you, John, and it is a privilege to be here. I know you don’t like to talk about yourself and so let’s ease into this and I’ll get you to talk a little bit about your ancestry. It’s well-known that you’re a fifth-generation pastor. Tell us about your grandfathers and the heritage of all those pastors in your background.
“JOHN MACARTHUR: Sure, well my Dad, obviously, is still preaching and teaching the Bible in his ninetieth year and has been doing that for about almost 70 years now. And was for many of the years, those years, a pastor and evangelist. His father, my grandfather, Harry MacArthur, was a pastor. He was converted in his twenties. He worked for the Canadian Railray...Railway in Calgary, he was chief telegrapher in those days and was converted to Christ and called to ministry. So he left Canada, came down to California. Attended the Bible Institute of Los Angeles and was trained as a pastor and then went into pastoral ministry. And, of course, I only knew him as a pastor. And so I used to, as a child, listen to my grandfather preach. And his wife, my grandmother, had a father who was a pastor in Prince Edward Island on the east coast of Canada. And his father was a pastor back in Scotland. And so,... ”
John MacArthur: Servant of the Word and Flock by Iain Murray:
“Harry MacArthur, the grandfather of our subject, was working as a chief telegrapher on the Canadian Railways at Calgary, Alberta, when he became a Christian. His wife, Olivia Mary Fullerton, was the daughter of a Thomas Fullerton, who was minister of the Presbyterian Church of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, on the east coast of Canada. 1. Fullerton had come from Scotland where his father had also been a Presbyterian minister. There was thus Scottish ancestry on both sides of the marriage of Harry and Olivia.
“1. Thomas Fullerton was minister of St James Kirk in Charlottetown, 1893-1921, a ministry interrupted while he served in the Canadian army during the Boer War.” (p. 5)
PHIL JOHNSON: “...you’re a fifth-generation pastor. Tell us about your grandfathers and the heritage of all those pastors in your background.
JOHN MACARTHUR: “...my grandmother, had a father who was a pastor in Prince Edward Island on the east coast of Canada.”
What John MacArthur neglected to mention is that during the years that his great grandfather, Thomas Fraser Fullerton, was minister of St James Presbyterian Church in Charlottetown, PEI, he was also Provincial Grand Master; Most Worshipful Brother, Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island, A.F. & A.M., Grand Master 1913–1914; “In the Grand Lodge he was Grand Chaplain, 1907-10; Senior Grand Deacon, 1911; Deputy Grand Master, 1912 and Grand Master, 1913.” “He presided as Worshipful Master of St. Johns Lodge in 1911. In the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite he received the degrees of the Lodge of Perfection and Rose Croix Chapter in 1903, and the intermediate degrees to 32degree in Charlottetown Consistory in 1911.” (Grand Lodge of PEI, Thomas Fraser Fullerton, PGM)
In 1892, Rev. Thomas Fullerton was also Grand Secretary of the Provincial Grand Orange Lodge for the Province under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of British America. (Canada: An Encyclopedia, p. 318)

Most Worshipful Brother
Thomas Fraser Fullerton, PGM*
Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island, A.F. & A.M.;
Grand Master 1913 – 1914
Thomas Fraser Fullerton was born at Glasgow, Scotland, on March 28th, 1861.
He received his early education at a Public School, matriculating into Glasgow University from which he graduated as Prizeman.
Having fitted himself for a life of theological work he came to America in 1889, and after a short Pastorate in St. John, N. B., he accepted a call to St. James Presbyterian Church, (Kirk) in Charlottetown, P. E. I. This charge he still holds, and has held continually for twenty-one years, with the exception of one year while in active service as Chaplain with the Royal Canadian Regiment in the South African War in 1900.
He received the Degree of Doctor of Divinity from the Presbyterian College at Halifax, N. S. in 1913.
In Masonry he received his first light as an Entered Apprentice in St. Johns Lodge, No. 1, Charlottetown, on March 15th, 1901, as a Fellow Craft, April 16th, and as Master Mason, May 14th, of the same year. He presided as Worshipful Master of St. Johns Lodge in 1911. In the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite he received the degrees of the Lodge of Perfection and Rose Croix Chapter in 1903, and the intermediate degrees to 32 degree in Charlottetown Consistory in 1911.
In the Grand Lodge he was Grand Chaplain, 1907-10; Senior Grand Deacon, 1911; Deputy Grand Master, 1912 and Grand Master, 1913.

*“PGM - Provincial Grand Master (abbreviated PGM or PrGM), sometimes called District Grand Master or Metropolitan Grand Master, is an office held by the senior Freemason in the middle management layer of masonic administration, between the national and the local levels.” (Wikipedia: Provincial Grand Master) 2.
The Grand Lodge of PEI’s tribute to Most Worshipful Brother Rev. Thomas Fullerton states that John MacArthur’s great grandfather received his Doctor of Divinity from Presbyterian College in 1913, the same year he became Provincial Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of PEI, Canada. According to The Canadian Annual Review of Public Affairs, Thomas Fullerton’s D.D. was an honorary degree rather than an earned degree.
“HONOURARY DEGREES CONFERRED… Halifax Presbyterian College… Rev. Thomas Fraser Fullerton… Charlottestown… D.D.” (The Canadian Annual Review of Public Affairs, Vol. 13, John Castell Hopkins, p. 491)
Thomas Fullerton’s theological studies and training were accomplished, therefore, not in a seminary but in the Masonic Lodge as he studied the requisite Masonic literature for initiation into the successive degrees of Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craftsman, Master Mason, Lodge of Perfection and Rose Croix and the 32nd Degree, the Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret.
According to John MacArthur, Thomas Fraser Fullerton’s father was also a minister in Scotland.
“And his wife, my grandmother [Olivia Fullerton], had a father who was a pastor in Prince Edward Island on the east coast of Canada [Rev. Thomas Fraser Fullerton]. And his father was a pastor back in Scotland.” (John MacArthur)
The father of Thomas Fraser Fullerton was John Fullerton, a Presbyterian minister in Scotland. Was Rev. John Fullerton also a Scottish Rite Freemason?

Is John Fullerton MacArthur a Scottish Rite Freemason like his great grandfather, Rev. Thomas Fraser Fullerton?
In a 2009 sermon on the parable of the four soils (Mark 4:1-20), John MacArthur spoke of his ministry as the “explosion of spiritual fruit and the harvest” of the ministry of his great grandfather, Rev. Thomas Fraser Fullerton, who was the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of PEI.
“A Diagnosis of the Soils”
(3 min. video clip)
“The good news is, when the soil is prepared by God, there’s going to be an explosion of spiritual fruit and the harvest will go on and on and on and on and on. A nice young man in our church was recently in Prince Edward Island and I had said in the church service that my great grandfather was a pastor of St. James Kirk Presbyterian Kirk in Prince Edward Island back in the 1800’s. So when he was up there, he started digging around and found all kinds of things about my great grandfather. Thomas Fullerton was his name and he was pastor there at the main church in Charlottetown for about twenty-eight years. He was a chaplain in the Canadian Military and he went to the Boer War in South Africa and fought and did ministry among the troops. And you look back and that and you say, ‘Okay, there’s a...his father was also a pastor who had been in Scotland and then gone to Australia and come there and at some point the Lord plowed the heart of that family and it just kept going and it just kept going and it kept going and it came down through my...from my great-grandfather to my grandmother, his daughter, and then through her to my father and then through me and this is the explosion and we’re all in this process somewhere. All of our lives intersect and that’s the...that’s the good news in the story and the disciples needed to hear that because it all basically looked like it wasn’t going anywhere.” (A Diagnosis of the Soils)
John MacArthur’s testimony is a tacit admission that his ministry is the evil fruit of Freemasonry. His great grandfather, who was Provincial Grand Master of Prince Edward Island of Canada, did produce “an explosion of spiritual fruit and the harvest” that “will go on and on and on and on and on and on.” It’s called the Masonic New World Order. John MacArthur’s ancestors may have been fruitful, however, their fruit was not the good fruit of the Holy Spirit but the evil fruit of Freemasonry, which is dedicated to the abolition of Christianity.
33° MASON ROY ROGERS
John MacArthur’s father, Rev. Jack MacArthur, was the pastor and close friend of 33rd degree Mason, Roy Rogers, and Dale Evans who was a member of the Eastern Star. Roy Rogers was reportedly converted and baptized by Jack MacArthur.

ROY ROGERS TO TESTIFY ON YOUTH NIGHT PROGRAM
ll7 Ninth Avenue, North Nashville, Tennessee
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BP)--Roy Rogers and his wife, Dale Evans Rogers, have accepted an invitation from G. Kearnie Keegan, secretary of Department of Student Work, Baptist Sunday School Board, to bring their Christian testimony in word and song on the youth night program of the Southern Baptist Convention, Saturday, in San Francisco 1 June 23. Mrs. Rogers, Dale Evans to the millions who listen to their weekly radio program, is a native of Texas. Her parents live in Italy, Texas, and are members of the First Baptist Church, E.J. Kearney, pastor.
Both Roy and Dale are members of the Fountain Avenue Baptist Church in Hollywood. Roy was won to Christ three years ago and baptized by the popular pastor-evangelist, Jack McArthur.
Grave of 33º Mason Roy Rogers
(Leonard Franklin Slye)
“In The Voice of Calvary Legacy, John MacArthur stated that his father, Jack MacArthur, ‘counted Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, who came to Christ under his preaching, as close personal friends.’
“According to an article in the Baptist Press written on May 13, 1951, ‘Roy [Rogers] was won to Christ three years ago and baptized by the popular pastor-evangelist, Jack MacArthur.’ This would indicate that Roy Rogers became a Christian and was baptized in 1948.
“According to the Henry W. Coil Library & Museum of Freemasonry, in June, 1950, Roy Rogers became a 32nd degree Freemason and became a member of the Ancient Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine (Shriner) in that same year. (To be a Shriner, one must be a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason.) This shows that Roy Rogers became a 32nd degree Freemason and Shriner two years after Jack MacArthur baptized him.
“According to an article written in June, 1952 in Radio-TV Mirror (p.46), Jack MacArthur was a frequent visitor to the then 32nd degree Freemason’s home.
“‘A frequent visitor at the house is Dr. Jack MacArthur, the dynamic young pastor of the Fountain Avenue Baptist Church in Hollywood, of which Dale and Roy are active members.’”
Roy Rogers became a Christian in 1948, at which time he was already a Master Mason. Upon his alleged conversion by Pastor Jack MacArthur, Roy Rogers did not renounce Freemasonry but went on to earn many higher degrees. According to the Library and Museum of Freemasonry, he became a 32º Mason in 1950, Knight Commander of the Court of Honor in 1975, 33º Mason in 1979, Holy Royal Arch, Royal & Select Master and Knight Templar in 1983.

John MacArthur has never revealed, much less repudiated, his family’s ties to Freemasonry. Instead he praises them, which makes his hypocritical expose of Freemasonry a shining example of how Satan’s ministers are transformed into ministers of righteousness.
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” 2 Cor. 11:13-15

Another less obvious connection to Freemasonry was announced in 1996 when the Mayor and City Council of Los Angeles signed a resolution congratulating John MacArthur on his ministry “which has advanced the causes of Jesus Christ worldwide. ...and [the Council] wishes him continued fruitfulness in all of his future endeavors for the glory of God.” The Mayor of Los Angeles at the time was Richard J. Riordan, who was a Knight of Malta. The Knights of Malta, in concert with the Prieuré de Sion, are leaders of global politics, finance, religion and intelligence. (See: L.A. Council Resolution Praises MacArthur)
FREEMASONRY BASED ON GNOSTIC HERESY
More incriminating evidence is a quotation by John MacArthur found in the Masonic publication of the Grand Lodge of A.F. & A.M. of Canada. A recent issue of a quarterly letter to District Deputy Grand Masters quotes John MacArthur’s advice to aspiring church leaders as applicable for developing leaders of the Masons lodge:
“Leaders are also ordinary people, with all the struggles, all the strengths, and all the weaknesses of people like us. ‘It’s not what you are that’s important, the issue is what you are willing to become’ (John MacArthur Jr. President Master’s Seminary).
“In any organization, including Masons, they need leadership. Someone to direct the administration that makes the organization a living, vital team and, particularly, to ensure that there is some growth, and that standards of enthusiasm, action and competence are maintained at a high level.” (Grand Lodge of Canada, March 2014)
John MacArthur seems to require no introduction in this widely distributed Communiqué to the Masonic leadership in Canada. He is a familiar personage to them, not only because his distinguished great grandfather was Provincial Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada, but because he himself promotes the principles of Freemasonry. It is doubtful the Grand Lodge of Canada would quote an Evangelical minister who is not a fellow Mason.
John MacArthur’s statement in the Grand Lodge Communiqué expresses the philosophy of Freemasonry as stated by the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada.
“It’s not what you are that’s important, the issue is what you are willing to become.’ (John MacArthur Jr.)
“On July 16th, 2014 the Grand Master, M.W. Bro. Donald A. Campbell commenced his address by welcoming everyone to the 159th Annual Communication of Grand Lodge in Toronto. He made special mention of the Leaders from other Grand Jurisdictions and the Masonic Family.
“He went on to suggest to the Masons present that… ‘I am convinced the world today needs Freemasonry, its philosophy and its fundamental principles of brotherly love, relief and truth,’ Moreover he suggested that ‘It’s not what you are that’s important, the issue is what you are willing to become.’” (Highlights of the Grand Master's 2014 Address)
This Masonic axiom was similarly expressed by the author of Don Quixote:
“Love not what you are, but what you may become.” (Don Quixote de la Mancha)
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (1547-1616) was a Spanish novelist, poet, playwright, and a Jewish Marrano educated by the Jesuits. Cervantes is frequently quoted in Masonic literature and Masonic Lodges have been named after him. 3.
Notice that the motto of the Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island is “Making Good Men Better.” Freemasonry rejects the doctrine of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ alone and preaches instead how to become better men by receiving the “light” (enlightenment), which is progressively imparted through degrees of initiation.
The pentagram is an important symbol in Freemasonry. It is seen in Southern Baptist News service announcement above because the SBC is a Masonic front. (See: Freemasonry & The SBC) Elizabeth Van Buren, author of The Sign of the Dove, wrote “the five-pointed star is the star of becoming, whilst the six-pointed star is that of completion.”
“The constellation in the sky from which the gods said they came was Schwerta (the Sword?). We recall that on the cover of the book called ‘Circuity’ a sword is laid over a six-pointed star and a map of France. ‘Esoterically the five-pointed star is the star of becoming, whilst the six-pointed star is that of completion. Beyond linking the symbol with Bootes, it is important in its own right.’” (Revelation 19:11-15). (p. 80)
What is the Freemason taught to believe he is “becoming”?
“As the great metaphysician Mme. Helena Roerich said, ‘Man becomes simply a god...and then God.’” (GaiaMind)
“Man is a god in the making, and as in the mystic myths of Egypt, on the potter’s wheel he is being molded. When his light shines out to lift and preserve all things, he receives the triple crown of godhood and joins that throng of Master Masons who, in their robes of Blue and Gold, are seeking to dispel the darkness of night with the triple light of the Masonic Lodge...
“The glorious privileges of a Master Mason are in keeping with his greater knowledge and wisdom... For Him the Heavens have opened and the Great Light has bathed him in its radiance. The Prodigal Son, so long a wanderer in the regions of darkness, has returned to his Father’s house. The voice speaks from the Heavens, its power thrilling the Master until his own being seems filled with its divinity, saying, ‘This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’ He, in truth has become the spokesman of the Most High. He stands between the glowing fire light and the world. Through him passes Hydra, the great snake, and from its mouth there pours to man the light of God.” (The Lost Keys of Freemasonry, Manly P. Hall, 1976, pp. 92, 54-55)
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Gen. 3:4-5
If the 5-pointed star is the symbol of becoming a god, and the 6-pointed star is the symbol of completion, receiving the Mark of the Beast, which John MacArthur says is forgivable, symbolizes the Master Mason’s attainment to godhood, or so he is led to believe.
Freemasonry presents itself to the world and to its members as a moral institution and the true religion, even true Christianity, however, this is a deception of the first order. Exoterically Freemasonry puts on a veneer of Christianity and good works, but esoterically it teaches initiates the secret doctrine of the ancient mystery religions which also became the religion of Israel under King Solomon. Albert Pike’s Morals & Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry reveals the duplicity which is at the heart of Freemasonry:
“The tendencies and tenets of the Order were enveloped in profound mystery, and it externally professed the most perfect orthodoxy... The Templars, like all other Secret Orders and Associations, had two doctrines, one concealed and reserved for the Masters, which was Johannism; the other public, which was the Roman Catholic. Thus they deceived the adversaries whom they sought to supplant. Hence Free-Masonry, vulgarly imagined to have begun with the Dionysian Architects or the German Stone-workers, adopted
the Evangelist as one of its patrons, associating with him, in order not to arouse the suspicions of Saint John , Rome the Baptist, and thus covertly proclaiming itself the child of the Kabalah and Essenism together. Saint John
“For the Johannism of the Adepts was the Kabalah of the earlier Gnostics, degenerating afterward into those heretical forms which Gnosticism developed, so that even Manes had his followers among them...
“The better to succeed and win partisans, the Templars sympathized with regrets for dethroned creeds and encouraged the hopes of new worships, promising to all liberty of conscience and a new orthodoxy that should be the synthesis of all the persecuted creeds.” (Albert Pike, Morals & Dogma, Ch. XXX)
According to John Robison’s Proofs of a Conspiracy, Illuminist Adam Weishaupt conceived a plan to “make the secret doctrines of Christianity be received as the secrets of genuine Free Masonry.”
“Jesus Christ established no new Religion; he would only set Religion and Reason in their ancient rights... This was a simple Religion, and it was so far inspired; but the minds of his hearers were not fitted for receiving these doctrines. I told you, says he, but you could not bear it. Many therefore were called, but few were chosen. To these elect were entrusted the most important secrets; and even among them there were degrees of information. There was a seventy, and a twelve. All this was in the natural order of things, and according to the habits of the Jews, and indeed of all antiquity. The Jewish Theosophy was a mystery; like the Eleusinian, or the Pythagorean, unfit for the vulgar, And thus the doctrines of Christianity were committed to the Adepti, in a Disciplina Arcani. By these they were maintained, like the Vestal Fire. They were kept up, only in hidden societies, who handed them down to posterity; and they are now possessed by the genuine Free Masons.” (Robison, pp. 86-87)
According to Charles Finney’s 1869 book, The Claims, Character and Practical Workings of Freemasonry, Masonry professes to be a “saving religion” with “promises of heaven as a reward for being good Freemason.” Although Freemasonry quotes Scripture liberally throughout its publications and rituals, the salvation of Masons is achieved not by faith in Jesus Christ but by passing through degrees of “advancing merit and ability” to the sublime state of enlightenment or gnosis.
That Freemasonry claims to be Christian (even as it plots to destroy Christianity) is documented by Finney who quotes A System of Speculative Masonry by Salem Town. The book became a standard authority and the systematic statement of Masonic principles adopted by Royal Arch Masonry, Grand Chapter of New York, in 1818. In his book, Salem Town made frequent references to “the Word,” “the Word of God,” “the holy Bible,” the “Lamb of God,” the “Son of God,” the “High Priest of our salvation,” “the blood of atonement for sin,” “the gospel,” and “the coming Messiah.” However, these terms were never applied to Jesus Christ. In fact, there is no mention of “Jesus Christ” whatsoever in Salem Town’s 284 page book. Instead, St. John the Evangelist is quoted to promote the idea that the Word of God is paramount in Freemasonry as it is in Christianity. However the reader discovers that in Freemasonry the Word of God is not Jesus Christ but the Logos or Divine Name of God, which is a secret and the pronunciation of which is known only to Masons:
“A knowledge, belief and due reverence of the Divine Word, constitutes the very essence of all true religion, whether ancient or modern. St. John begins his gospel by saying, ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.’... This word, however mysterious it may appear to the world, has been understood, and held sacred by the Masonic order from time immemorial.
“That all these things pointed, in some shape, to the great sacrifice which was to atone for the sins of the world, is now abundantly evident... This sacrifice was the eternal Word, or the second Person in the adorable Trinity, as manifested in the flesh. The same Word by which Masons in every country do now recognize each other, as having been regularly advanced to the more sublime degrees. This Word, with its Masonic pronunciation, can, for a certainty, be traced back in the Institution for more than two thousand years. If so, it affords strong presumptive evidence, to say the least, that it has descended, not merely from the building of the temple, but even from the ancient fathers, to whom God himself communicated the knowledge of his holy name...
“By tracing Masonic customs, and comparing certain ceremonies in the economy of the Institution, there appears to be an existing fact, indicative not only of the antiquity, but high object of ancient Masonry. From this fact it appears, that ancient Masons were in possession of the appropriate name of the promised Messias, termed in the New Testament the Logos or Word. The knowledge of this Word was an object of great moment, and sought with all diligence by the members of the Institution. This divine Word has, in every age of the world, been held sacred, and faithfully transmitted from one to another in ancient form to the present day. (A System of Speculative Masonry, Salem Town, pp. 81, 83-84, 137)
Absent the name of Jesus – the only “name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved” – Town’s reference to the sacrifice of the “eternal Word, or the second Person in the adorable Trinity, as manifested in the flesh” may be applied to any number of ancient pagan saviors. (See: Astro-theology)
According to the Order of Former Freemasons, “Monotheism is the sole dogma of Freemasonry. Belief in one God is required of every initiate, but his conception of the Supreme Being is left to his own interpretation. Freemasonry is not concerned with theological distinctions. This is the basis of our universality.” (Indiana Monitor & Freemason's Guide)
In the following excerpt from Charles Finney's book, The Claims, Character and Practical Workings of Freemasonry, it can be observed how Freemasonry quotes the Word of God to give the appearance of Christian orthodoxy, just as Albert Pike disclosed in Morals & Dogma. However, the Masonic savior is the Logos of ancient pagan religions and the way of salvation is not by faith in Jesus Christ but by gnosis (enlightenment) cloaked as belief in “Masonic principles.”
The Claims, Character and Practical Workings of Freemasonry by Charles Finney
Chapter VII: “Freemasonry is a False Religion.”
“I quote Salem Town. I read his work some forty years ago. The book professes on its title-page to be ‘A System of Speculative Masonry, exhibited in a course of lectures before the Grand Chapter of the State of New York, at their annual meetings in the City of Albany.’ It was reduced to a regular system by their special request, and recommended to the public by them as a system of Freemasonry. It is also recommended by nine grand officers, in whose presence the lectures were delivered; by another who had examined them; and by ‘the Hon. DeWitt Clinton, General Grand High Priest of the General Grand Chapter of the United States of America, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of the State of New York, etc., etc.’
“The book was extensively patronized and subscribed for by Freemasons throughout the country, and has always been considered by the fraternity as a standard authority. From this author I quote as follows:
‘The principles of Freemasonry have the same coeternal and unshaken foundations, contain and inculcate the same truths in substance, and propose the same ultimate end, as the doctrines of Christianity.’– p. 53.
‘The same system of faith and the same practical duties taught by revelation are contained in and required by the Masonic institution.’– p. 174.
‘Speculative Masonry combines those great and fundamental principles which constitute the very essence of the Christian system.’– p. 37.
‘It is no secret that there is not a duty enjoined nor a virtue required in the volume of inspiration but what is found in and taught by Speculative Freemasonry.’ ‘The characteristic principles are such as embrace the whole subject-matter of divine economy.’– p. 31.
‘As the Word in the first verse of St. John constitutes both the foundation, the subject-matter, and the great ultimate end of the Christian economy, so does the same Word, in all its relations to man, time, and eternity, constitute the very spirit and essence of Speculative Freemasonry.’– p. 155.
“Again, referring to the promise of the Messiah, he says: ‘The same precious promise is the great corner-stone in the edifice of Speculative Freemasonry.’– p. 171. / no mention of Jesus Christ
‘The Jewish order of priesthood from Aaron to Zacharias, and even till the coming of Messias, was in confirmation of the great event, which issued in the redemption of man. All pointed to the eternal priesthood of the Son of God, who by his own blood made atonement for sin, and consecrated the way to the Holy of holies. This constitutes the great and ultimate point of Masonic research.’– p. 121.
‘That a knowledge of the divine Word, or Logos, should have been the object of so much religious research from time immemorial adds not a little to the honor of Speculative Freemasonry.’– p. 151.
“Again he says: ‘It is a great truth, and weighty as eternity, that the present and everlasting well-being of mankind is solely and ultimately intended.’– p. 170. This he says of Freemasonry.
“But again he says: ‘Speculative Masonry, according to present acceptation, has an ultimate reference to that spiritual building erected by virtue in the heart, and summarily implies the arrangement and perfection of those holy and sublime principles by which the soul is fitted for a meet temple of God in a world of immortality.’– p. 63.
“Again he says: ‘In advancing to the fourth degree, the good man is greatly encouraged to persevere in the ways of well-doing even to the end. He has a name which no man knoweth save him that receiveth it. If, therefore, he be rejected and cast forth among the rubbish of the world, he knows full well that the great Master-builder of the universe, having chosen and prepared him as a lively stone in that spiritual building in the heavens, will bring him forth with triumph, while shouting grace, grace to the Divine Redeemer.’
‘Hence, opens the fifth degree, where he discovers his election to and his glorified station in the kingdom of his Father.’
‘With these views, the sixth degree is conferred, where the riches of divine grace are opened in boundless prospect.’
‘Then he beholds, in the eighth degree, that all the heavenly sojourners will be admitted within the veil of God’s presence, where they will become kings and priests before the throne of his glory forever and ever.’– pp. 79-81.
‘The maxims of wisdom are gradually unfolded, till the whole duty of man is clearly and persuasively exhibited to the mind.’– p. 184.
“Again: ‘Principles and duties which lie at the foundation of the Masonic system, and are solemnly enjoined upon every brother; whoever, therefore, shall conscientiously discharge them in the fear of God fulfills the whole duty of man.’– p. 48.
“Again he says: ‘The Divine Being views no moral character in a man with greater complacency than his who in heart strictly conforms to Masonic requirements.’ ‘The more prominent features of a true Masonic character are literally marked with the highest beauties.’– pp. 33, 185.
“Then again he represents Masonry as forming as holy a character in man as the Gospel does or can. ‘Again he says that ‘every good Mason is of necessity truly and emphatically a Christian.’– p. 37.
“That Masonry professes to conduct its disciples to heaven we find affirmed by Town, in the following language. Of the inducements to practice the precepts of Masonry he says: ‘They are found in that eternal weight of glory, that crown of joy and rejoicing laid up for the faithful in a future world.’– p. 188. By the faithful here he means faithful Freemasons.”

Salem Town justified his Gnostic perversion of Christianity by praising the ancient Gnostics, who were Neo-Platonists, as “church fathers” and “christians” who labored to introduce the ancient mysteries and philosophy to the early churches. In the theology of Clement, Justin Martyr and Origen, the Trinity consisted of God, the Logos and the Holy Ghost.
“Clemens, the fellow laborer with Paul, and Justin Martyr, that amiable and excellent father in the church, Eusebius, Origen and others of the primitive christian fathers, on the introduction of christianity, labored abundantly to prove from the ancient mysteries, that the knowledge of the true God had been preserved and transmitted down from the first ages, in perfect accordance with the christian religion. When Justin Martyr had embraced christianity, without laying aside his philosopher’s robe, he taught the doctrines of the gospel of Rome.
“Origin was so charmed with the ancient mysteries that he taught them in conjunction with christianity. In many instances the dignified title of the Jewish priesthood was conferred on christian teachers, without distinction of nation. In many cases the sublime realities of the gospel were taught by symbols, and in some instances the great and fundamental truths contained in ancient mysteries, were introduced into the church institutions.” (Town, p. 139)
Although Freemasonry claims to produce men of holy character, the entire “Masonic system” is a counterfeit, “do it yourself” religion, based on human merit and gnosis, instead of the merits and knowledge of Jesus Christ. In Freemasonry, Jesus Christ is not the exclusive Way of salvation but the “Stone” which the builders (Masons) have rejected.
SCOTTISH RITE INITIATION:
THE “PRESBYTER” OR “CHRISTIAN MASTER”
Freemasonry portrays Christianity as excessively authoritarian. To liberate men from the slavery of an abusive God, Freemasonry offers an alternative Christianity, Gnosis – illumination or enlightenment – through the process of initiation.
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5
Robison described the initiation ritual of Scottish Rite Freemasonry as liberating the candidate from the “slavery” of “submission” and “false religion,” meaning Biblical Christianity, which Scottish Rite Freemasonry conspires to abolish:
“The candidate is presented for reception in the character of a slave; and it is demanded of him what has brought him into this most miserable of all conditions. He answers – Society – the State – Submissiveness – False Religion. A skeleton is pointed out to him, at the feet of which are laid a Crown and a Sword.” (Proofs of a Conspiracy, p. 110)
According to Proofs of a Conspiracy, preparation for initiation in the Scottish Rite involves presenting the prospective candidate with “catching questions” calculated to “bring him into dilemmas” concerning Christianity. Candidates are then presented with an alternative Christianity, that is, Scripture reinterpreted according to “the secret doctrine in the ancient schools of philosophy”—the Gnostic heresy.
“ILLUMINATUS DIRIGENS, or SCOTCH KNIGHT...
“IV. Account of a reception into this degree, with the bond which each subscribes before he can be admitted... In preparing a candidate for the degree of Scotch Knighthood, we must bring him into dilemmas by catching questions...
“This instruction begins with sore complaints of the low condition of the human race; and the causes are deduced from religion and state-government. ‘Men originally led a patriarchal life, in which every father of a family was the sole lord of his house and his property, while he himself possessed general freedom and equality. But they suffered themselves to be oppressed—gave themselves up to civil societies, and formed states. Even by this they fell; and this is the fall of man, by which they were thrust into unspeakable misery. To get out of this state, to be freed and born again, there is no other mean than the use of pure Reason, by which a general morality may be established, which will put man in a condition to govern himself, regain his original worth, and dispense with all political supports, and particularly with rulers. This can be done in no other way but by secret associations, which will by degrees, and in silence, possess themselves of the government of the States, and make use of those means for this purpose which the wicked use for attaining their base ends. Princes and Priests are in particular, and kat’ exochen [preeminently], the wicked, whose hands must tie up by means of these associations, if we cannot root them out altogether.’...
“The following questions are put to the candidate...
6. ‘Does Christianity give us any hint to this purpose? does it not recognize such a blessed condition as once the lot of man, and as still recoverable?’
7. ‘But is this holy religion the religion that is now professed by any sect on earth, or is it a better?’kat' exochen (Greek): Pre-eminently.
8. ‘Can we learn this religion—can the world, as it is, bear the light? Do you think that it would be of service, before numerous obstacles are removed, if we taught men this purified religion, sublime philosophy, and the art of governing themselves? Or would not this hurt, by rousing the interested passions of men habituated to prejudices, who would oppose this as wicked?’
9. ‘May it not be more advisable to do away these corruptions bit by bit, in silence, and for this purpose to propagate these salutary and heart-consoling doctrines in secret?’
10. ‘Do we not perceive traces of such a secret doctrine in the ancient schools of philosophy, in the doctrines and instructions of the Bible, which Christ, the Redeemer and Liberator of the human race, gave to his trusty disciples? Do you not observe an education, proceeding by steps of this kind, handed down to us from his time till the present?’” (Proofs, pp. 102, 106-109)
According to Robison, the Discourse to the Illuminati Dirigentes, or Scotch Knights then states that in order to transition Christian doctrine to the secret doctrine of philosophy, the Order of Illuminate needed to gain control of education, the churches, the professors and the pulpit:
“N. B. We must acquire the direction of education – of church-management – of the professorial chair, and of the pulpit. We must bring our opinions into fashion by every art – spread them among the people by the help of young writers. We must preach the warmest concern for humanity, and make people indifferent to all other relations. We must take care that our writers be well puffed, and that the Reviewers do not depreciate them; therefore we must endeavour by every mean to gain over the Reviewers and Journalists; and we must also try to gain the booksellers, who in time will see that it is their interest to side with us.’...
“I conclude this account of the degree of Presbyter with remarking, that there were two copies of it employed occasionally. (Proofs, pp. 109-110)...
“It surely needs little argument now to prove, that the Order of Illuminati had for its immediate object the abolishing of Christianity (at least this was the intention of the Founder) with the sole view of overturning the civil government, by introducing universal dissoluteness and profligacy of manners, and then getting the assistance of the corrupted subjects to overset the throne. The whole conduct in the preparation and instruction of the Presbyter and Regens is directed to this point.” (Proofs, p. 124)
The degree of the Presbyter is the Third Degree or “Master Mason” and, according to Alice Bailey, Master Masons are at the head of all church denominations. Furthermore, we read that the whole conduct in the preparation and instruction of the Presbyter or Master Mason is directed to the abolishing of Christianity and overturning civil authority!
A Masonic website explains that the Presbyter Degree is called the “Christian Master” and that this degree dates back to primitive Christianity (euphemism for ancient Gnosticism) which “involved a sequence of three initiatory rites.” 4. The following excerpt is most enlightening read for it explains how and why the Christian Church is being stealthily diverted from the Word of God to Gnostic scriptures and works such as those referenced by John MacArthur in his heretical book Slave: The Hidden Truth About Your Identity in Christ. Notice that the Masonic author quoted St. Augustine, a Gnostic monk, to support his case.
“Today by a tacit and quite unwarranted convention members of the Craft avoid mention in Lodge of the Christian Master, and confine scriptural readings and references almost exclusively to the Old Testament, the motive being to observe the injunction as to refraining from religious discussion and to prevent offence on the part of Brethren who may not be of the Christian faith. This motive is an entirely misguided one and is, of course, negated by the fact that the ‘Greater Light’ upon which every Candidate is obligated, and to which his earnest attention is recommended from the moment of his admission to the Order, is not only the Old Testament, but the Volume of the Sacred Law in its entirety. Freemasons will come to recognize that the New Testament is as essential as the Old, not merely on account of its moral teaching, but in virtue of its constituting the record of the Mysteries in their supreme form and historic culmination. It will be perceived that the Gospels, like the Masonic Degrees, are a record of preparation and illumination, leading up to the ordeal of death, followed by a raising from the dead and the attainment of Mastership, and they exhibit the process of initiation carried to the highest conceivable degree of attainment. Thus the Craft will learn that the Grand Master and Exemplar of Freemasonry, Hiram Abiff, is but a figure of the Great Master, and Savior of the world, the divine Architect by whom all things were made, and without Whom is nothing that hath been made. Neither the Ancient Mysteries, nor Modern Freemasonry, their descendant, can be rightly viewed without reference to their relation to the Christian evangel, into which the pro-Christian schools became assumed. Hence we find that St. Augustine affirms (Retractationer, 1, 13, 3),
‘the identical thing that we now call the Christian religion existed among the ancients, and has not been lacking from the beginnings of the human race.’ A study of Patristic literature makes it quite clear that the primitive method of the Christian Church was not the one which now obtains, under which the religious offices and teaching are administered to the whole public alike and in a manner implying a common level of doctrine for all and uniform power of comprehension by every member of the congregation. It was, on the contrary, a graduated method of instruction and identical with the Masonic system of Degrees conferred by reason of advancing merit and ability. Admission to the early Church was by three ceremonial degrees exactly corresponding with those of Freemasonry, as the following quotation from one of the most instructive of the early Christian treatises proves conclusively:
“The most holy initiation of the Mystic Rites has as its first Godly purpose the holy cleansing of the initiated; and as second, the enlightening instruction of the purified; and finally and as the completion of the former, the perfecting of those instructed in the science of their appropriate instructions". (Dionysius: On the Ecclesiastical Hierarchy).
“Originally, therefore, membership of the Christian Church involved a sequence of three initiatory rites, and the names give to those who had qualified in those Rites, together with their modern equivalents in the Craft today, are respectively:-
FIRST DEGREE: CATECHUMIENS. ENTERED APPRENTICES.
SECOND DEGREE: LEITURGOI. FELLOWCRAFTS.
THIRD DEGREE: PRESBYTERS. MASTER MASONS.
“Their first degree signified re-birth and purification of the heart; the second was concerned with the illumination of the intelligence; and the third related to a total death unto sin (self-centred individuality) and a new birth unto righteousness, in which the Candidate died with Christ on the Cross, as in our modern Order he is made to imitate the death of Hiram, and was raised to that higher order of life (organic integration - resurrection in Christ, the Universal Manhood) which is Mastership.”

The Presbyter’s or Master Mason’s Degree was earned by Thomas Fraser Fullerton, the great grandfather of John Fullerton MacArthur. Is John MacArthur also a “Christian Master Mason”? He claims that the legacy of his Masonic ancestors is the “explosion of spiritual fruit and harvest” in his own ministry. Is “Christian Master Mason” therefore the esoteric meaning of The Master’s College, The Master’s Seminary and The Master’s Academy International?
The “Christian Master” Masonic degree certainly explains the explosion of Master Masons in leadership positions of the Church today, just as Alice Bailey predicted a century ago:
“Very definitely may the assurance be given here that, prior to the coming of the Christ, adjustments will be made so that at the head of all great organizations will be found either a Master, or an initiate who has taken the third initiation. At the head of certain of the great occult groups, of the Freemasons of the world, and of the various great divisions of the church, and resident in many of the great nations will be found initiates or Masters.” (Initiation: Human & Solar, p. 62)
“The Christian church in its many branches can serve as a St. John the Baptist, as a voice crying in the wilderness, and as a nucleus through which world illumination may be accomplished... Its work is intended to be the holding of a broad platform. The church must show a wide tolerance, and teach no revolutionary doctrines or cling to any reactionary ideas. The church as a teaching factor should take the great basic doctrines and (shattering the old forms in which they are expressed and held) show their true and inner spiritual significance. The prime work of the church is to teach, and teach ceaselessly, preserving the outer appearance in order to reach the many who are accustomed to church usages. Teachers must be trained; Bible knowledge must be spread; the sacraments must be mystically interpreted, and the power of the church to heal must be demonstrated.
“The three main channels through which the preparation for the new age is going on might be regarded as the Church, the Masonic Fraternity and the educational field. All of them are as yet in relatively static condition, and all are as yet failing to meet the need and to respond to the inner pressure. But in all of these three movements, disciples of the Great Ones are to be found and they are steadily gathering momentum and will before long enter upon their designated task.” (“Religious Organizations in the New Age,” Externalisation of the Hierarchy)
SCOTCH PRESBYTERIANISM = REFORM JUDAISM
In their book, When Scotland Was Jewish, authors Hirschman and Yates wrote concerning the Jewish origins of the Presbyterian Church:
“We also provide documentation suggesting that perhaps the majority of Scots people, especially those in the southwest and northeast of Scotland, are of Sephardic Jewish descent. And we argue that many of these same Scots today continue to practice a ‘Reform’ type of Judaism. It is called Presbyterianism.” (p. 7)
Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise, a pioneer of Reform Judaism in America, stated in 1855:
“Freemasonry is a Jewish establishment, whose history, grades, official appointments, passwords, and explanations are Jewish from beginning to end.”
The Jewish Tribune newspaper, in 1927, in an editorial, stated:
“Freemasonry is based on Judaism. Eliminate the teachings of Judaism from the Masonic ritual and what is left?”
Yates and Hirschman also wrote of the Jewish origins of the Protestant Reformation, specifically the Sephardic ancestry of John Knox and John Calvin:
“We will argue in Chapter 10 that some of the principle architects of the Protestant Reformation, in particular John Calvin of France and John Knox of Scotland, were descendants of Sephardic Jews...
“Curiously, few scholars have actively pursued this angle of investigation in exploring the origins of Protestantism. We suspect it is for the same reasons Scottish history is normally told as a monothematic battle for independence from the British ‘elephant’ that one popular writer finds himself ‘in bed with’ (Kennedy 1995) – told with such partisan zeal, in fact, that ‘Scots’ and ‘Scottish’ come to be defined only as a counterfoil to ‘British,’ eclipsing all other strains of nationality and culture that went into the making of modern Scotland. We propose that the Reformation, beyond being a movement against Catholicism, should be seen as a movement toward Judaism.” (When Scotland Was Jewish, pp. 94, 200)
For other evidence of the Jewish ethnicity of John Calvin and John Knox, see:
The Protestant Reformation: Rosicrucian Connections: John Knox & John Calvin
John Robison repeatedly stated in Proofs of a Conspiracy that Scottish Rite Freemasonry conspires to abolish Christianity:
“It was then discovered that this and several associated Lodges were the nursery or preparation school for another Order of Masons, who called themselves the ILLUMINATED, and that the express aim of this Order was to abolish Christianity, and overturn all civil government...” (Proofs, p. 60)
“It surely needs little argument now to prove, that the Order of Illuminati had for its immediate object the abolishing of Christianity.” (Robison, p. 110)
What could be a more effective method of abolishing Christianity than infiltrating its institutions and destroying it from within? A Scottish Rite website states that
to ‘divide’ and ‘conquer’was precisely the strategy of the Reformers:
Rosslyn...chapel’s centenary year, the Church of Rome was in a bit of a tizzy. Catholicism was under siege by a new and troublesome adversary—the Reformation. In one fell swoop, the Christian world was cleft in twain. No longer would Rome be able to raise great armies from its subject nations to crush heresies wherever the Papal finger pointed. There was no longer just one big boy on the block. Another had moved in. The mightiest church the world had ever known had been ‘divided’ and ‘conquered’.” (“Rosslyn Chapel Revisited “[I]n 1546... ”)
JOHN MACARTHUR’S MASONIC AGENDA
“The candidate is presented for reception in the character of a slave; and it is demanded of him what has brought him into this most miserable of all conditions. He answers – Society – the State – Submissiveness – False Religion.” (Proofs of a Conspiracy, p. 110)
Christians are also identified as ‘slaves’ of God in John MacArthur’s best-selling book, Slave: The Hidden Truth About Your Identity in Christ. In fact, the theme of Slave is that the Christian’s relationship to God and to Christ is one of abject slavery. In building his false doctrine, MacArthur’s forgot the words of Jesus and Paul which which declare that Christians are neither slaves nor servants but friends of Christ, and sons and heirs of God.
“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” John 15:15
“And because ye are Sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” Gal. 4:6-7
For a more thorough analysis of Slave, see: Parts 2-5.
Where did John MacArthur derive the concept that the Christian life is one of slavery to God and Christ? The thesis of Slave: The Hidden Truth About Your Identity in Christ is no different from the philosophy of Freemasonry. One anti-Christian scholar cited to support John MacArthur’s slave gospel asked the obvious question: “Where’s the good news?”
Slave references numerous heretical, anti-Christian sources, primarily authored by modernist and postmodern scholars who deny the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith and whose works are filled with slander and blasphemy of the Lord Jesus Christ. One postmodern scholar quoted as an authority by MacArthur wrote a blasphemous book titled Sex & The Single Savior which portrays Jesus Christ as a homosexual.
The author, Dale B. Martin, is himself a homosexual who naturally views the moral commandments of the Bible as slavery. John MacArthur never identifies this Yale professor as a homosexual or a liberal scholar, but recommends him as an authority on the New Testament because his book, Slavery as Salvation, compares the Christian life to the abusive institution of slavery in the Roman empire. (Slave, p. 38) (See Part 4)
Why would John MacArthur have such high regard for a Professor of Religious Studies at Yale University, an ultra liberal university and home of the Order of Skull & Bones?
“Skull and Bones operates as an independent elite Freemasons lodge. It originated as ‘the Brotherhood of Death’..., an offshoot of Continental Freemason Baron Von Hund’s ‘Strict Observance’ Rite, who was involved with that other infamous Freemason founded & led secret society, the Illuminati of Bavaria.” (Freemasonry Watch)
According to Antony Sutton, the Order of Skull & Bones, like Freemasonry, has infiltrated the Christian churches.
“‘The Order has either set up or penetrated just about every significant research, policy, and opinion-making organization in the United States, in addition to the Church, business, law, government and politics.’ As A.C. Sutton recorded from Skull & Bones documentation: ‘The Church. About 2 percent of The Order is in the Church (all Protestant denominations)...” (“What Is Free Masonry Doing To Christianity?”) 5.
John MacArthur’s dim view of the Christian life as slavery reflects the philosophy of secret societies such as Freemasonry and Skull & Bones. The bizarre trailer for John MacArthur’s Slave book even incorporates a famous Masonic symbol – the eye within a pyramid:
“So what is the pyramid? Literally, it is an eye. An eye perfectly conceived to see based on the geometry of light. Whose eye is it? The all-seeing eye of Horus.”
The Slave trailer is the handiwork of John MacArthur’s son-in-law, Kory Welch, who incorporates Masonic symbolism in his other videos as well. For example, The Life Recovery Bible video displays at least two occult signatures, the number “333” and “April 30” which is the Scottish Gaelic (Celtic) May Day, date of the Beltane fire festival. Of interest, Adolf Hitler committed suicide at 3:30 on April 30, 1945. The German Thule Society with which Hitler was involved was the counterpart of the American Skull & Bones Society. Both were secret societies called the “Brotherhood of Death” and linked to Freemasonry.
“Beltane...is the Gaelic May Day festival. Most commonly it is held on 30 April, but sometimes on 1 May, or about halfway between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. Historically, it was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. In Irish it is Bealtaine, in Scottish Gaelic Bealltainn and in Manx Gaelic Boaltinn or Boaldyn. It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals—along with Samhain, Imbolc and Lughnasadh...” (Beltane)
John MacArthur has depicted the modus operandi of the Masonic conspiracy, of which he is a part, in a promotional video for Grace Advance which portrays him as a “Master Craftsman” (Master Mason) skillfully fashioning ministerial students who will introduce Masonic teachings to churches throughout the world.

Is John MacArthur a Master of the Craft?
John MacArthur is proud of his ancestors who were Scottish Rite Freemasons and he is also proud that he bears the “great Scottish name” MacArthur. When Douglas MacArthur was initiated into the 32nd degree he became “Sublime Master of the Royal Secret.” According to a Druidry-Masonry website, in Scottish Rite Freemasonry the “Sublime Master of the Royal Secret” or Master Mason is “one of the elect,” of the “chosen heroes,” and a veritable King Solomon...
“On Being a Sublime Master of the Royal Secret”
“...in the Scottish degrees the candidate is led to believe he is receiving the ‘secret’ several times before the 32°. Again and again the lost secret is found, but in finding it anew, we must suspect that we are only being pointed towards it. It is not a secret word, a handshake, a password. It is not a magic word that will give us supernatural powers. It may, however, be the very fact that we have supernatural powers already...
“A 32nd degree Scottish Rite Freemason is called ‘Sublime Master of the Royal Secret’ It is the King archetype that each man must find within himself. It is the Hero archetype that he must find within...
“In Scottish Rite Freemasonry (and indeed in the 3rd degree of Masonry which is the culmination of the Craft in the Blue Lodge), a man is taught that he is one of the elect, one of the chosen heroes, possessed of every manly virtue. He is taught that King Solomon is not some outside source of male power and validation. No, he himself, each Master Mason, is King Solomon. Powerful, possessed of vast abundance, wise, self-assured, in complete command of himself. A King can only be threatened by another King — no lesser man or force can disturb his completeness.”
The author of this piece is Dr. James Warren Scott Maertens, whose druidic name is Alferian Gwydion MacLir. Also known as “Brother Owl,” Dr. Maertens is a “Master Mason... a Knight of the Rose Croix and Knight of the Temple, and Master of the Royal Secret 32°. He is also a Druid Companion of the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids, a member of the Ancient Order of Druids in America... In 2005 Alferian founded the non-profit scholarly center, Avalon Center for Druidic Studies (ACDS)...” (About Alferian)
Freemasonry and Druidry both use the term “Craft” which, according to Nicholas de Vere, Sovereign Grand Master of The Imperial and Royal Dragon Court, means “the ability to gain wisdom or power...by yielding to daemons or intelligences (ancestral god spirits which were part of the practitioners’ own genetic inheritance and make-up) through trance or dream states.” (From Transylvania to Tunbridge Wells)
Dr. Maertens, who is a 32° Freemason and a Druid, reveals that Druidry and Freemasonry have an interlocking directorate and membership; also that Druidry is Jewish in origin, and that Druids lurk within Christianity:
“Indeed, in the foundational legends of the craft, the first organized masons were Jews under King Solomon, though many were also Phoenicians, such as Grandmaster Hiram himself from Tyre... Many of the founders of druid organizations in the 19th century were freemasons or at least knew enough about Freemasonry to model their organizations upon the Craft. ...
“Freemasonry and Druidry thus have historical ties and philosophical similarities. Each takes up a Craft of sorts and employs its terminology and symbols in pursuit of Light. This pursuit of knowledge or gnosis, inner spiritual knowledge and understanding is common among many groups. Some might say that Druidry should cut itself off from Christianity and so from Hermeticism and Alchemy and all the Western mystery traditions and try to get back to that Old Tyme Religion practiced at some point in a distant Golden Age. Those who strive to reconstruct pre-Christian paganism are, in my opinion, little different from those 18th and 19th-century druids who sought to discover the pure antediluvian or Adamic religion.”
The assertion that “Druidry should cut itself off from Christianity” presupposes that, like Freemasonry, Druidry has already infiltrated Christianity. This section has presented compelling evidence that John MacArthur is a high level Freemason. The sections which follow present evidence that this Evangelical minister is also a Druid.

3.That Cervantes was an occultist is shown by Robert Bruce Fruehling who writes in The Revelation of King Arthur, “One of the stories of Don Quixote has the Don encountering Merlin in a mountain cave.” (p. 96) According to Nicholas de Vere, “The witch, as a seer or Merlin in Scythian culture and society, consequently belonged to an exclusive genome within a distinct holy and royal caste of overlords, which is reflected in the Gaelic word for a witch - Druidhe - which is pronounced Drui and is related to Draoi and Dracoi, meaning a dragon...” (From Transylvania to Tunbridge Wells)
4. The falsely so-called “Church Fathers” Clement and Origen of Alexandria were not Christians but Gnostics and it is from their polluted stream of Gnostic doctrine that many heretical sects which refer to themselves as “Primitive Christians” originated.
5. The grandson of Henry Sloan Coffin, whose Union Theological Seminary was funded by John D. Rockefeller, was William Sloan Coffin, Jr. (Skull & Bones ’49). William was Chaplain of Yale University, CIA agent, anti-war, civil rights and gay rights activist. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, William contributed to the doctrinal collapse of the Protestant churches. In 1998, he wrote:
“Homosexuality is not a big issue for Biblical writers. In the 66 books of Scripture..., only seven verses refer to homosexual behavior. Some time ago, I picked up a pamphlet entitled ‘What did Jesus say about homosexuality?’ Opening it, I came across two blank pages. Closing it, I read on the back, ‘That’s right, nothing.’” (“Jesus, Paul, and Homosexuals,” (One Minister to Another)
